KooKu Hotspot Launches in South Africa

Johannesburg, South Africa, 1 September 2004 - CSE Direct PTY Ltd and KooKu have provided the Café Della Salute on Nelson Mandela Square situated in the leafy suburb of Sandton, Johannesburg, with the first Wi-Fi KooKu hotspot service in South Africa. This deployment aimed at consumers and business users alike is part of successful strategy led by CSE Direct PTY Ltd to provide wireless high speed internet access in hotels, conference centres, cafes and popular venues globally and across South Africa.

Café Della Salute on the vibrant Nelson Mandela Square is a prime location for such a service as it boasts of business people and visitors all year round. Nelson Mandela Square is one of the largest civic open spaces in South Africa and is located close to the nation's business hub. This KooKu service allows users to access the internet, email and online services at broadband speeds, with a wireless connection. KooKu™ is based on a prepaid system of payment which allows complete flexibility of service provision, offering customers a fast and easy to access Internet service. One hour KooKu access cards are available to purchase from the restaurant for ZAR 70.00.
