Institution
of Electrical Engineers (IEE) becomes Wi-Fi Enabled
Lydbrook, Gloucestershire,
30 June 2004 - KooKu has provided the Institution
of Electrical Engineers (IEE) in Savoy Place London
with a Wi-Fi KooKu hotspot service.
This KooKu service allows
members and visitors to access the internet, email and
online services at broadband speeds, with a wire less
connection. Members of the IEE are provided with a members'
internet access card which will enable them to access
the KooKu service anytime. The service will also be
used at events to provide exhibitors and delegates with
wireless internet access. The IEE will also provide
members and visitors without Wi-Fi enabled laptops with
MicroAPs, a driver free installation device replacing
a wireless card, allowing guests to access the service
- a cost effective, easy to use solution.
This service will also
be available at the IEE Birmingham and Glasgow sites
shortly.
KooKu Sales Director,
Jeff Martin said, "We are delighted to be involved
in enabling the IEE with this cutting edge technology
and the KooKu network. This deployment is part of KooKu's
strategy to provide wireless high speed internet access
in hotels, conference centres, cafes and popular venues
globally".
