Photographers Use KooKu Hotspot at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2003

Lydbrook, Gloucestershire, 5 January 2004 - Photographers and journalists at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2003 were able to send their pictures and stories on the night of the show using Wi-Fi broadband internet access via the KooKuTM network. As the awards were held in a remote location in Ocean Terminal, Leith, Edinburgh, KooKu also had to provide MTV with a satellite broadband connection.

This service allowed members of the press to access the internet, email and online services at broadband speeds, without a phone line connection. Photographers and journalists without wireless cards were provided with MicroAPs, a driver free installation device replacing a wireless card, a cost effective and easy to use solution.
